A full tank travels in the van. No outside tap, no hose dragged across the lawn, no conversation about it on the doorstep.

Lane mud sets like render along the sills and arches. Soaked, foamed and rinsed before anything touches the paint, so the grit ends up on the floor and not in the lacquer.

The stage

Fabric holds on to everything a family puts into it. Extracted rather than brushed over — you can read the weave in the seat again, and the footwell has a colour.
